Default 30SS Information and Questions

How do these boats handle the rough? How are they compared to the newer 31SS? 23* Deadrise? Speeds? Any handling quirks? Etc, etc.

Thanks in advance.

There are only cosmetic changes between the 30SS and The 31SS. Both are 30'6". One of the best rough water 30' boats you can buy. Probably the best cabin in that size range. If you over trim it will porpoise at low speed, but thats the only handling quirk. It is built like a rock, sonic called the model "hardbody". Probably the most fun Sonic to drive, very responsive.

Does these boats ride better than a 28 Pantera?

I don't know, but Panteras narrow beam may help. I think the 31SS is heavier, that and the extra length is an advantage in rough water. Never been in a pantera.

28 Pantera is a great boat, been on before prior to moving from a 26 to a 31. I now own a 31 Sonic and extra weight, size will provide a better ride and length for the twins. I personally love the cabin size in the 31 sonic.

Any of you guys know anything about the 1990 30SS in Lindenhurst New York? The white boat with the red graphics on boattrader.com.

That was my old boat. Motors and engine compartment were just re-rigged. Bravo 1 drives had no problems. Cosmetically she needs some TLC!
