Default Decision making time

Looking to move into a larger boat, considering all brands and comparing similar size Sonics to Bajas and other brands. Would like to make this a final boat purchase.

Yup, before you know it the 31 will be too small (because you will want to stay on it once you retire and you try it once. Nothing better than getting up in the morning already boating!) Then you will have to go back to work to buy a 386!

Maybe you should save time and pick up a 45SS, I know where there is a nice one......

I had a 25 baja before my sonic 31ss. I liked the 25 baja and love the sonic 31ss. I like the 3 piece construction of the 31ss over the baja's and that may be why you get the feeling of a stiffer structure. All 3 pieces of the sonic are bonded together to create a very rigid boat (similiar in concept to unibody cars).

Have you rode in or driven the 31ss and the 30 outlaw to compare? I have not rode in a 30 outlaw but I do like the styling. I don't care for the colors in the gel coat on the baja, the paint on the sonics is very nice.

I would use the lack of external steering as a bargaining tool to get a better price or have it added before taking delivery. Every boat I looked at in the last 12 months before purchasing my 31ss is still for sale!

The 31 will stomp all over the 30 in as far as ride, speed and comfort. I worked on both models and there really is not a comparison.

Go as large as you can. Go4broke is right. I had a 30 Scrab for a long time. Way too small for comfort after a day on the water. Moved up to a 35' SS for a few years - much better but no comparison to my 386. A 42 or up would be even better. My 2-cents.

What are you going to do when you get rid of the 45? Keep the Sundancer? Something else??

Let's go with "Something else"

Remember the old saying "Everything's for sale for the right price"
