Default Holiday started off Great.

A group of us were going to spend the weekend in Chesapeake City, on the C&D this weekend.

Yesterday started off picture perfect. Pulling out of Chesapeake Beach had a Sonic commercial written all over it.
A 42, 38, 35 followed by my 26... All waxed up, ready for action.

Got about 2 miles past the Bay Bridge and I loose oil pressure!!!! (Are you freaking kidding me!!!!)

Stop the boat, open the hatch, 8 quarts of oil are splashing around the bilge... FRAAAAAAAAKKKKKK !!!!!

I can find out where it all came from. I put a couple quarts back in and start up the motor.

AHHH.... The line coming from the oil filter housing, going to the oil cooler, had ruptured underneath and was just pooring into the bilge.

Weekend over... Got towed to Sandy point, by one of our friends, since that was the closest place.

Spent the rest of the afternoon, trying to get the truck and trailer. Got home at 830.

Off to see if I can salvage the weekend. Drain the oil, clean the boat and see if I can replace that line.

Good luck! Hope you get it fixed today. Was it rubbing on something?

Not at all. When we put on the EMI thunders the oil filter housing didnt fit back on the bracket correctly. The lines were hitting the manifold. I made 2 studes that raised the oil filter off the manifold, but streched the one line, bending the rubber line between the two crimped lines. I guess since the line was at a bend for so long, it didnt like being straightend out.

hahaha... That thought crossed my mind...

I found a place local that was able to make a new line for me. Had the boat cleaned up and in the water by 1pm.

Dropped an anchor and enjoyed the afternoon.

All is running good.

A big thanks to Jeff at Guy Brothers marine in Clements Md. (southern Md)
I walk in with the busted hose, and 15 min later I walked out with the new one....

Saved the weekend!!!

Fantastic! Hope to get my first run in tomorrow. 60 degrees with a 15mph cold wind, I just wasn't up for dragging 2 little girls out. Tomorrow will be warmer with less wind.
