Jim you have 500efi's and you are getting 1200, the lowest price I have got is 1985 for 575's, do those engines make that much of a difference in the premiums? I am 40 years old. I used to have a 1999 28 Pantera with 502 mags and only paid 350$ a year I think.

A lot of the difference is how long you have had boats insured and if you have any other insurance coverage with the company. I have had my insurance with the same company for over 15 yrs. Also some companies are cracking down on what they are insuring so getting new insurance could be a lot more expensive than if you maintained insurance for a long period of time.

You need to use an agent in you area. My girlfriend keeps one of her cars at my house in the garage. I asked my agent about insuring it. They told me it has to be insured in the state of registration, or with the boat the house you live in.
