Default Help on 44 SS....

I'm thinking of getting a 44 SS (2000) w/ triple 500 EFI's and less than 200 hrs. Wondering if anyone has had one or similar and any opinions..good or bad.

I'm very very skeptical about the 3 engines, and drives for that matter. That seems like one big headache and mucho $...but it is a awesome looking boat.

When you are over forty feet, three is not so bad. I have lost fan belts, raw water pumps, due to silt and other things. I can still get up on plane and go.

I talked to Scott Shrogen today and he stated that the owner of the 45 SS traded it in for a center consul, and never had ANY mechanial issues.... and he gave me his name, so I think your info is off.

45...just interested in how happy you are with it. I hear they are slow??? How much gas does it eat?? How much are you asking, would you take a trade, how much, hours etc.?? Email me some pics if you happen to have some. Thanks!

Joe is a cool guy, he traded it for a triple engine 38 Fountain CC. My buddy is good friends with him. When he ran to the Bahamas (all the way over to the Abacos) it was about a 400 mile run from start to finish and I never saw the hatch up. I'm not sure it runs 80 but it kept up with the pack of poker run boats just fine.
