cruising rpm

i have 03 260 prowler, stock 496ho. just wondering what rpm is safe for longer cruising maybe 2-3 hrs. second season with boat no real trips last season so i would like to stretch her legs this summer. (the boat)

Anything 3-4K should be OK. If cruising long distance and conserving fuel, I usually run 3200 to 3500.

I would also agree anywhere from 3-4k should be fine

I don't get this "cruising" speed stuff? Isn't that the same as WOT (wide open throttle) "Top End" speed? :evilb:

It was until gas passed 4$ a gallon! Then it was discovered throttles aren't toggle switches!
