Default cruising rpm

i have 03 260 prowler, stock 496ho. just wondering what rpm is safe for longer cruising maybe 2-3 hrs. second season with boat no real trips last season so i would like to stretch her legs this summer. (the boat)

Anything 3-4K should be OK. If cruising long distance and conserving fuel, I usually run 3200 to 3500.

I would also agree anywhere from 3-4k should be fine

I don't get this "cruising" speed stuff? Isn't that the same as WOT (wide open throttle) "Top End" speed?

It was until gas passed 4$ a gallon! Then it was discovered throttles aren't toggle switches!

just found this forum about a week ago, and cant stay away. two more weeks before the sonic comes out of hybernation.

delaware river,i would like to make a few trips down to red eye,maybe trailer to jersey shore this season. i dont have a lot of experience other then the river. so a little nervous about navigating new waters.
