I have a 2003 Prowler with the merc 525 there is currently a 26p on it thats is what i bought it with. I have tried a 28p i was unable to turn more than 4800 with it. The 26p turns 5300 but i am only seeing 70 and plaining off it just seems to take longer than it should. With the 525 and a 1.50 ratio xr drive it seems to me sould be more than enough power to get into the mid 70s and plain better.

I had the same set-up as you, you're right the 26" is a little slow out of the hole but that boat's no jack rabbit. Are the props you're running stock or labbed? I use to run a 24" that was mildly labbed and the boat got on plane much better and obviously accelerated harder and turned about 5450-5500 indicated RPM. Don't forget the tachs can vary. I usually ran between 70-72 GPS with a best of 74. I was also running full time mufflers. I assume you're talking about Bravo I props? Steve
