4900rpms sounds over propped....and he could be running 1.65 drive ratios (my old 312 Formula did)

KJ is running 496HO's if I remember right.

Labbed 30's are alot of prop for a 31SS although his is a much newer boat then most on here and is probably built lighter.

496 HO's....1.5 ratio........I was thinking 4900 with almost full tanks and 3 guys, and gear is pretty good.

HO's should be 4600 to 5000. 4900 is perfect.

My 31ss came from the factory with 30 pitch props 500HP EFI's. I saw 84 on GPS. Jim has had them redone by BBlades and has gone even faster. This boat had A/C , refrigerator, eletric head.

FWIW, there's a 45' Sonic that sits at Berger's Marina at the 1mm on LOTO. Never seen it move since I've been using their ramp and that's been 2 1/2 years now. They say some guy leaves it there but rarely takes it out. I don't really know the full story. Probably see it again this year.

I've seen that one sitting up there too and wondered what the story was on it. Have never seen it in the water.
