Can anyone tell me the approximate weight of a 35ss on a aluminum trailer and on a steel trailer?

my 31 is around 10000 with an alluminum trailer so you're probably around 13-14 with steel

What do you think it comes in at on a aluminum trailer?

I am looking for the same info......trying to find out what my 35' Sonic weighs in at on an aluminium trailer with fuel and gear........I am buying a new pickup truck and want something that will tow the boat legally but don't want to drive around in a monster truck every other day of the year......sorry to hijack but if you get an answer keep us posted.......thanks.......John.

If you go to NADA.com that usually gives you the weight of the boat dry. I figured a rough estimate from there and I would be really close to what I can tow. Was trying to get a good estimate from the members here to see how close I really am. If that helps.

my question is, is "dry" including engines and drives ? I can never seem to get a solid answer.......if you don't mind me asking what number do you come up with ?

NADA Says my boat weighs 8400lbs with 425hp engines......I am gonna say my 575sci's are about the same......?

I figure my boat is 10k with fuel and gear. add an aluminum trailer @ 1500+ and you have 11.5 - 12k.

I rarely tow my boat. It is kept on a lift at the marina that is 20 minutes from my house. I have a 2500 6.0ltr chevy and is struggles a bit to get going and on hills, but once going its fine. I did borrow a friends ford 250 diesel for a long haul, and it was night and day difference. With the diesel you dont feel the truck struggle as much to get going, or going up a hill.

with that said, a 3/4 ton is fine in the suspension dept, but a diesel is really needed if you plan on towing alot.

my math tells me right at 12,000lbs too......I also keep mine at my marina in an indoor high and dry rack.....I just have to buy a new truck for work and I might as well give myself the option of towing to different waters.......thanks HP 2000.....To answer the question at hand this is figuring an aluminum trailer......steel I would add up from there......

Had a 2001 358 with 500efi's with most options on a Myco triple axle steel-it was approx. 11,000. We have a 2005 386 with larger than stock :-) engines with transmissions......on a Myco triple axle steel. I'm going to guess about 12,500 as ours is right now becaus of the lighter lay up of our hull vs. the 2001 we had. I was told by Myco if I remeber correctly that our current steel trailer with drive guard is about 2,500 lbs. I pulled our 358 with a 1996 GMC K3500 SRW with a 454. It worked ok but i one on ramp I had the trailer push the truck alittle. I got a GMC K3500 DRW with the Duramax/Allison in 2002 and it has been great. Multiple trips from NJ to Florida and back no problems. Hope this helps.
