How much hp are you running? The shorties caused way too much cavitation... If you are asking in regards to a stronger drive, we run a set of built drives that have been cryo'd, polished, ect. to hold up for 700hp each... so far, we have only had one failure but with it being a heavy boat and boating on lake michigan where it tends to get rough...

thats good to know, I'm at 580 HP for now. Doing 540 bottom ends soon.
So you are saying raising the X on a Sonic will not help it any?

On the early 90's boats maybe a little but it will have to be both the lowers and some prop work. On the newer hulls, not worth it IMO. The cost-to-MPH ratio is high...meaning for the additional cost, the speed gain is minimal IE 2-3mph.
