Default Prowler FWC System

Well, Spring is just around the corner so I'm thinking about installing a San Juan FWC system (MC330) on my 502.

I had the MC331 FWC kit on my '96 Scarab 454 and it worked great. Easy to install and never had an overheat problem no matter how long I ran at WOT. From what I read a FWC system keeps the engine coolant temperature consistant so the ECM is not chasing engine temps to adjust fuel injector cycling, resulting in better fuel economy. Plus the obvious, coolant in the motor and manifolds and easier to winterize.

Looking for input from those who have a FWC system.

Also, San Juan offers a rear mount HX option. Has anyone seen a REAR mounted FWC system? That would seem to be the better choice since it would be out of the way allowing access to all the accessories.

Only issue I could possibly see, is that if the engine your putting it on has a good amount of raw water cooled hours, and depending on how well it had been flushed, and the amount of scale in the engine, I would guess the possibility to clog up some of the system may exist.

This is the same reason its not recommended to put a previously used marine engine in a automotive application as the scale can break loose and clog the radiator causing overheating issues.

Brackish is the same..... you will still get scale. Fesh causes rust also internally just like salt or brackish.
