Default Fast 386 sts

Im just trying to get some ideas I have a 2000 386 sts with mild built hp 500 s. It runs fairly well in the 70s but its not enough. I was wondering if anyone out there has one with bigger power and what kind of speed numbers there are seeing and what kind of horsepower thanks

I have driven one with triple 500's to 86 on gps, owner said he has seen 91 in ideal conditions.

LapseOfReason had one with 575's if I recall correctly.

I've ran with a 2002 386 that has pro charged 502's. Had them at over 800 hp and was breaking drives but could run low 90's. Now he's down to about 750 hp each and runsmid-high 80's routinely and the drives live.

The new HyperSonic by Frisini can't be compared.
LapseofReason had 42 with 500s back in the day.

The 386 is not going to be a rocket. Unless you are running some seriously overbuild Bravo derivative drives, I would not attempt anything over 600HP. It's just going to east the drives trying to push that kind of weight.

There was a dealer in VA years ago who had one rigged with 900SCs and VI drives. I don't think it broke 100.

the 900sc #6 boat was special ordered from the factory by a friend, ran 105 mph with 4 people all day long and had a generator, was featured in hotboat magazine in 98'I believe.was traded to the Va dealer who repowered it with hp 500s and bravos, putting the 900sc and #6s in a baja that wouldn't run much over 90 if i remember correctly after merc refreshing

You are totally right. Thank you for that correction. It was the 36 Outlaw that didn't run all that well with the 900SCs/VI drives.
