Default Looking For Prop Options Since 502 Upgrades

Finally got my Prowler 502 upgrades done. Dart Pro-1 345cc aluminum heads, Cometic SS head gaskets, ARP studs, IMCO aluminum exhaust with SS risers, San Juan FWC, MSD 8366 distributor, MSD coil, COMP roller rockers and push rods and MEFI 3 tuning by Precision Marine.

Before upgrades with B1/22p prop I could only get 4850 RPM, 58 MPH (GPS) and 35 GPH fuel consumption (Faria Fuel Manager). Now realize I was running with 5 jugs at 80 psi compression and the other 3 jugs at 125, 135, and 150 psi compression. How it run as good as it did i will never know.

Now with the same B1 prop I only have to go to a little over 3/4 throttle to get to 5000 RPM, 62 MPH and 27 GPH fuel comsumption. At cruise, 50 MPH and 4250 RPM, my fuel burn rate is 22 GPH.

So I'm looking for a prop that will put me at between 5000 and 5200 RPM WOT. Looking at a labbed B1/22P, 24P or labbed 24P. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need a 24 pitch, and probably can spin a 26 if you are having it labbed.

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking for every MPH I can get. I'm not a speed demon. My primary purpose for the upgrades was to make the 502 more efficient and reliable. It has done well on the efficiency part so far.

Based on your suggestion I leaning toward this labbed 24P on ebay. What do you think or do you have a better source for labbed B1 props or do you know of anyone that has a used labbed B1 24P?

I also have a Stilleto 3B 23P and 25P that I'm going to try for grins and giggles. The 3B 23P worked well before the mods.

For that amount of money, you should have a prop custom made for your application. I had great luck with Throttle up, and I am sure Bblades is great too. I am a little afraid that the lab 24 will give you too high rpm's, as it is roughly equal to a stock 22. For max efficiency a stock prop may work better. A lab prop often has higher midrange rpm's than stock (also higher top end). I think you need to try stock 24 and 26, then contact Throttle up or Bblades and have them make what will work best for you. You need to document your speeds and rpm's with different props to give them the info to properly lab your prop. Be sure to tell them what your main goal is.

Check out this thread, I've rode in this boat, that prop is awsome, it hooks HARD in tight corner and turn with out blowing it out. Still the boat went low 70's hope this helps or atleast something else to think about.

Thanks to all for the feedback!

I have a couple of props that I'm going to try this weekend. That should get me some good data to share with the prop guys.
