My 358 has two batteries under the hatch, has anyone added a 3rd or even a 4th batter or have thoughts on a good location add one. Thanks in advance.

Have you though about going to a bigger battery. Maybe a 4D or 6D I don't know how much extra room you have around your existing batteries.

I thought about going to bigger battery's but they are mounted on the sides of the hull inline with the motors The 358 is a shorter 386 and they to the 3 feet from the cockpit back. I looked at mounting another battery behind the ones currently mounted but there is not a ledge to mount the box too.

I was looking to add two extra batteries and the only way I thought it would be possible would be to use stringer battery mounts. You can find them at dana marine and various other companies.

If I were going to add batteries to my Prowler, I would consider putting them underneath the passenger seat in the corners. You usually can't reach stuff stored there anyway, they would be out of the way and it would be a short wire run to tie into the OEM batteries. Plus the wire holes would be invisible and, if desired, easy to seal or run terminals through. Also a good place to mount the additional 2 battery selector/isolation switch(s). I would strongly suggest that you install AGM or Gell batteries so you don't have the acid vapor leak that lead/acid batteries have. I would also suggest that you upgrade the alternator to a larger unit.

'99 Prowler with modded 502 MAG

Under the seat would be a great spot, but there is no storage area to put the battery/batterys in. The seat bottem is part of hatch.

I guess the Prowler and the 358 passenger seats are different. My seat back is attached to the hatch and the actual seat and subsequent storage area are floor mounted.
