2000 Sonic 358 Time to Update or Sell ?
Purchased new in 01, now with approximately 450hours on 502's. Engine rebuilds performed in 09. However, winter "to-do" list has grown and due to other obligations, they simply haven't been getting done for the past few years now.
Is there a market to blow these out in the S Florida area? Or should I begin to label this as a project boat and start tearing her apart to update engines and interior? |
what all is on the "to do" list? just curious:party-smiley-004:

You have to price it cheap to sell. Probably less of a hit to update what you have.

my list, as saved on my MacBook .....
replacing: all running & interior lights with LED support hardware for cabin door new cabin carpeting replacing hardware on hatches throttles & shifters (or having them sent out to redo the powder coating) new upholstery for cockpit (already purchased) diamond plate battery boxes replace AC water pump replace freshwater pump / install transom shower (already purchased) install diamond plate boxes on trailer replace brakes on trailer replace tab & drive indicator cables install fender holders (ss snap-in’s) replacing the stereo and the amps/speakers remain replacing the VCR & monitor with new DVR & monitor and now I really want to address the motors. My biggest enemy, is time. I don't want to admit that I'm turning into "that older guy" at the marina that keeps her covered more of the time than she is wet. |
Throttle and shifters are easy as well as running new cables. Did it on my 00 358 in about 2-3 hours start to finish. Battery trays are a pain in the butt but I replaced mine so I could run group 30 batteries. Carpet is easy, A/C pump and just about everything else is fairly easy on our boats.

Or just make me a good deal on it and I'll take care of it:party-smiley-004:

Unless you buy new again, I think you would find you need to do most of that list to most used boats.

FOR SALE.... made the decision.

Had her brought back to Lauderdale for InterMarine brokers to handle it from here.
In a quiet way I hope that she doesn't sell right away, this way I can make one last run to Miami with her! |
