how is the cockpit in 260 ? all the pics i see online seem like there is very little room between the bolsters and the bench . is this the case or is there enough room to stand up between ?

It's tight. The very wide walk rail around the cockpit makes it such, but it's not impassable. 26' Sonic was my first boat and I loved it.
Are you looking to move one from the boat you have now?

my next boat will be a bigger AT . curious for a friend . my 25 AT is tight side to side but decent between the bolsters and the bench . i know the prowler is wider , more curious about the room to stand up between the bolsters and the bench .

As Brian said, there's room to stand up behind the bolster, but that's all. You're not going to have someone sitting on the bench while someone is standing in front of them. It's a 26' boat, with an integrated swim platform, somethings gotta give in order to have an enclosed head, decent sofas and v-berth cabin accommodations. And that would be cockpit space. I had one also and thought it offered alot for a 26' boat, but things get rather tight when you have 4 adults on the boat and you need to maneuver around the cockpit.
