Prowler Draft ?
#1
Did a forum search and could not find this answer.
Recently my wife and I were in Florida (Punta Gorda, Englewood, Nokomis, etc..) . I was out in a friends boat (a center console, outboard, typical fishing type) cruising the Charlotte harbor, Inner coastal waterway and the Gulf. When we were in some of the canals I asked my friend if my Sonic (2004 Prowler) would bottom out in these canals? He asked "what is your draft?" I always believed it to be (from memory) something like 31". He said "no way".
I believe draft to be measured from the waterline to (basically or approx.) to the drainplug. I realize it will be affect by load (gas, occupants, etc...). On average can someone tell me the draft on a Prowler?
Thanks.

Sonic responded to my instant message (Appreciate their expediency - really quick reply). They confirm 2' 3" or 27". Appears to be same as the 31 footer.
This could be a problem in the waterway of the areas of Florida I mentioned. I cannot believe the water is so shallow in these areas as well as the ICW and even the Gulf of Mexico for that matter. Mgr. of one of the marina's my wife and I visited said you can go out 5 miles on the gulf and be in five feet of water. Amazing.
