Here they are. But how do I keep everybody from stepping on them?

for those that have or will be installing the steps before some of us , do new holes need to be drilled ? what size drill bit and what type and lenght of screws to use?

Quiet Storm 04-29-2003 06:43 AM

My blue ones just came in. My first thought was I can't step on this, they look too good. I'm very happy with the way they look. Great idea Brian.

Thanks
Roger

26sonic, I'm not sure of the hole size yet but if you do need to drill, I suggest that you drill out the gel as large as the screw thread. This should be about 1/8" deep. If you don't, the gel will crack when you start to screw in the screw.

Actually it was 26sonic's idea to have EMI make some custom. He started the dialog, and I provided the pics, dims, and correspondences. I am glad they have worked out.

thanks brian glad this worked out for all of us ! guys just keep me posted on installation tips ( drill sizes , screw types and sizes) don't want to mess this up !!

Quiet Storm 04-29-2003 02:02 PM

Well, thanks to you too 26sonic and Eddie Marine for making them for us. Its a nice custom touch. I'll try to post a picture of the blue when I get them on.

I got mine today, will install them and cup holders this weekend. I'm not sure of the logic of installing something that will show scratches for steps, but I like it!! NO SHOES!!!!

Put mine in today with Eddie cup holders. The screws were in the exact place as my previous plastic steps so no new holes were needed. I probably could have gone to a larger size screw, but they seem to hold fine. Steve
