Less than $100 for new step pads...
1 Attachment(s)
I just talked to Joe at EMI. The pair of pads will go for just less than $100. This is a very good price, especially considering EMI is tooling just to make these pads for us. These can be in any color that you want. They are friendly on the feet, and will stay nice as long as you keep the salt off of them. Please post here of your intention to order some. After I see 10 orders total on all boards, I will confirm with Joe that we are ready to go, and you all can phone in your orders. This will be a nice trick upgrade you will get points for when your friends see, and when it comes time to sell!

|
Yes, look forward to these being on the EMI website one day. Please do not wait on purchasing though. This price is only set for us on this group buy, and they may go up by marketing.
We need two more sets! |
Brian, may be able to get that last pair of steps you need.....will talk to my brother-in law. Had mentioned it to him last week and he had an interest......

I measured the pads and came up with these measurements. I am going to have them made 1/16 of an inch smaller than the plastic pads, just so not to put too much pressure on the edges/corners, where they meet the vinyl of the armrests. Check out these pictures:

Everyone may not have holes in the same place, but we have to start somewhere. All of the ones I measured were exact as this one above. I am also going to have the mounting holes carved with a countersink so the mounting screws sit flush.
Comments...? |
Sounds great Brian.
Thanks Roger |
That sounds good to me. When will you place the order or do we do that ourselves.
David |
Sydwayz, Thanks for all your reseach and effort into the steps. I am definitely looking forward to the upgraded step pads. My white ones are good for about 2 minutes before they need cleaning  Steve
|
It works for me. Thanks Brian
|
I forwarded all the info to Joe, and asked him for a prototype, or draft, of the product. This will be accompanied by the final price. At that time everyone can phone in their individual orders. Thanks guys. I can't wait either.

UGH! Snag in plans...
The pair of pads are going to be identical. They will both have the slant going the same diirection. We can't change this. hey are going to look like this for both sides of your boat: |

I wanted them like this:
|
Is everyone OK with this? The rubber pads are injection molded, pre-made, from a large quantity all with the same slant as in post #22. I even looked into having them being being placed square on the step. No go there either.
I am a picky SOB, and I wanted as shown in post #23. I am willing to live with same slants; although it is NOT what I wanted. Everyone still a go? |
I would like the slants to be opposite too but the same is OK.
Roger |
That is a real shame, but they still look better than the factory ones. I'm still in.
|
brian , i'm still in for 3 pairs in purple.
|
good here 1pr in the color of the merc blue motors
|
Oh geez, can't you do anything right? :D:D:D Well I guess I'll have to stick in there too so you don't feel bad! :D:D Steve
|
1 pair for me still. I can't decide what color though!
|
I am still waiting on the drawing and final pricing.
|
I was wondering about it.

Everyone can phone in their orders now, and choose their colors individually. I am going to order a pair of purple ones for myself. For OSO guys who are on the initial order; $98 dollars a pair is our cost. By the time they hit the web and are marketed, they will go up a bit. That does not include shipping or any applicable taxes. You can contact Eddie Marine at:
