I saw 80 on a 2003 with 525s. Mechanic at OP saw 82 with bigger water.

As an FYI, I was told that Full Tilt Marine a few years back, had a 386 with Merc 900's on 6's that supposedly went 103-106.

TS42, you are correct. It was the owners boat. When they stopped selling Sonic, they pulled the 900s & VIs, and stuck 500s in there.

They put the 900s and VIs in a big Baja. The one at the end of the row; closest to Maggies(?) near Red Eyes. I hear it hardly gets on plane.

Sydwayz,

We almost bought that 386 with new motors and drives. The owner wanted a deposit of 10 grand before I even saw the boat, and then they claimed they never agreed to include the trailer with the price, I would of found that out when I got there and tried to haul the boat home on the roof of my suburban.

Did you know of anything wrong with that boat because it seemed as though it was on the market for long time?

Yeah, it had the living piss ran out of it.

I bet it is a nice boat for someone. As Too Old said; "There is an ass for every seat."

Good thing it was a Sonic and could handle it. Can you imagine a Baja with 'former' 900s? That was not a pretty deal when Full Tilt lost the Sonic dealership. Lots of stickyness, and everyone on the east coast new about it. '43Thunder' knows a lot about that boat too.
