First Problem
#1
I was out for a ride in maybe 3 to 4 foot waves and I was sitting in the seat. Well, all of a sudden I hit a larger than normal wave and when the boat landed I kept on going toward the floor. Stopped and found that the bracket that mounts the jack screw broke off the back of the bolster. The mount is aluminum and not all that substantial. Has anybody else had this problem?

Not that particular problem but I have had to replace a motor for the drop down once. What a B%T@H. You will at best have to take the seat out to work on it as you will have to dismantle it in order to replace or repair the mount.
Call Freddy at Sonic if you need any additional help

I took the motor out and arranged to use the manual latch. I'm going to make a steel mount and bolt it on but this will be a winter project.
It was also advised to me to get up off my fat azz in rough water.

Bill, how do u like the 43 Thunder vs. The 42 Sonic. Just curious...
a 46 maybe in the future at some point......
I know its blasphemy to say such, but the 46 has tons of room in the cockpit for passengers, and there is more head room in BT over the Sonic. But I like the big Sonic's interior layout better. Just my preference.
How fast have you had her, and what was it in comparison the the 42 ?

TS42 - We haven't had her out but three times this year before we broke. The good news is that the trailer is going to be here Saturday and the motor early next week. Now we just need the weather to clear.
We love the extra room that the Black Thunder has over the Sonic - head room and beam. Bill has a problem driving though - his knees get in the way from being tall (6'2"). We love the walk-around v-berth and it is more comfortable to sleep in.
The last time we had her out we were going 74 on the GPS with 10 people on board and not topped out. There was too much junk in the River to go top speed.

TS42 - We have Cobra 750s for power. She is supposed to do 88-92mph but we will have to see.
At the beginning of April, we threw a rod out the oil pan on the starboard motor. It is at Cobra Power in Miami being rebuild and should be done today. Trailer will be here tomorrow morning. We should be back in action next weekend.....now if the weather would only cooperate like today!!! Hope to see you out there soon.
