I'm going to be looking at a 2001 358 with 500HP EFI'S. I know a little about the Sonic's but would love to know more about this particular MODEL.
Handles rough water?
If I had to compare the quality to another brand what would be it's closet's competitor?
What would be a realistic top end and cruise speed?
If the boat had any downsides what might they be?
Thanks a perspective buyer.

Sonic 358
Sonic is comparable to Cigarette mostly, it handles very rough water and is extremely quick in turns and is also very responsive. You cant go wrong!! Speeds at this point cannot give due to fact we do not know what options are included in this boat. We have an 2004 completely loaded with microwave, air, 17" Flat screen, DVD and electric head, transom shower, twin 525's at WOT she gps's at 82 mph..
Any further questions please call Dave @704-799-6666
Team Carolina
Or reply with options that are in the boat that you are looking at!!

I haved owned two sonics and they were great boats. I cannot answer the MPH numbers but you would not be disappointed in the boat.
If you are looking for cabin, not just top speed.

Thanks Guys,
Boat I'm looking at just came on the classified board and is located out of Illinois. Going to Chicago tomowrow and I'm going to make time to look her over. I HOPE unless something else comes up.

That is a beautiful boat... if the pics on boattrader or yachttrader were recent, looks like it is in excellent condition.... Questions...
What year did they stop putting the notch in the transom on the 358?
Did the 2002 models begin the hulls with the bagging process?
Speed with 500 efi's.... upper 70's

And the price he is asking for that boat with a trailer..... it's not much more than what they want for the 31's these days!!! It looks like a GREAT deal!!! I'm assuming it's an all freshwater boat based on it's location.... Good luck!!!
