I have a 2000 31SS with the 502 mag MPI's and it runs a solid 77 on GPS. Great engines - - reliable and economical to run. It's fore sale too!

Gosh!! I wonder now how fast my Sonic 30SS will go with two NA 650's?? I have both 1.36 & 1.50 drives.... I am picking the engines up Sunday to dress them out.
What would be the expected speeds @ 5500-6000rpm??? These engines will love that rpm range:cool: |
Blown Formula,
my motors were dynoed at 640hp each. I have seen 94.7 on GPS, but that is rare. Consistant low to mid 80s otherwise. Mine are procharged 502s. |
Thanks Pure Energy!! I was slow in replying... since I am now retired I was at the lake and no internet access there yet..... I would be quite happy with the "90's" figure. It might be a little scary up there!!

90 mph in a 31 sonic is almost boring in flat water. Absolute rock solid stable. The wind may stretch out your face and be scary looking, but the boat won't scare you!

That's great to hear! My Formula 312 at 87 starts to get a little wild, but I don't spend enough time at those speed in it to learn how to drive it. It just was not designed for it with the engines it has now. I also have to admit after last summers experiences, I tend to treat the engines a lot better and I don't have but maybe 10 hours on them so far. I am really looking forward to the Sonic experience!!
