Footrests on 26 Prowler

Just wondering if anyone knows about an add on foot rest that folds down for use when seated in bolster. I remember seeing them in a picture Bn posted of a 26 that was at a boat show he attended in 2003. It just seems like a good idea since Sonics don't have a 2 tiered foot rest like most manufacturers. I know I could call Sonic about them, but was looking for someones opinion who has seen them! Thanks! Steve

I have a buddy here in VA with at least one on the port side, of his 26; from what I remember. The one Sonic installs is a pretty solid unit, but the corner I know is sharp, because I know it has caused a few ankle scratches. I think function wise it is OK, but to me, it looks like an afterthought, and not in place in a Sonic cockpit.

Thanks for the replies! I guess this pretty much makes my decesion. I know it probably looks like an afterthought, which is what it is. Manufacturers don't like to change molds due to costs, hence the add on! I just thought my wife would like to plant her feet somewhere when seated instead of dangling. She's just going to have to let them hang Steve

The folding rest used are not bad looking and they function well. They can be ordered from the factory. They are an available option on new boats now.

My '04 Prowler (which is actually making it's journey to my dealer -- as we speak. See separate thread on this one) has the aluminum footrest on the port side passengers seat. I was told, however it was standard. I did not pay extra for this (unless it was built into the cost). I personally think it looks good. It's aluminum. My wife is 5'1" and defintely needs this for her feet. I'll post pictures of my boat when I take delivery of it on Saturday.
Please check out my thread on the new boat's unauthodox delivery. I want some opinions/ comments.
