On my 42 I have them in the compartment on the left side in between the seats under where the head unit goes. Two pretty big MTX's 1 1200 watt, 1 800 watt. I have one of those little clip on fans that plugs into the cig, lighter too keep them cool.

On the new 50 Nortech it looks like this.

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking about putting an amp in the cabinet under the galley sink. This is also whre the a/c is mounted.

on my 04 31 I mounted one on each side of the first compartment that backs up to the built in cooler where my power inverter/charger is located. I am a little worried that the one that is adjacent to the cooler has already went out. I wonder about condensation getting to the electronics it is a jl audio 500 for the subs.

I mounted my amp under the rear bench seat, on the forward wall. You can't even see it unless you look for it. Its a Boss (I know not the greatest, but I got a deal) 4x150w.

How did you mount it ? How thick is that seat base ? I guess you had short enough screws that they didn't poke out the front ?

And speaking of the seat base thickness.....What is the best way to cut new holes to mount the Subs ? Fine tooth Jig Saw ?

I screwed it to the seat base. It's about 1/2" thick. I've had it there for 4 years , no problems. A sheet metal blade in a jig saw works ok. Tough stuff. I used a die grinder with a carbide bit for the 6x9's I mounted in the base.

I ran out and took some pics. Here's the amp, looking forward from the engine compartment:

Here are the Poly planar tri-axial 6x9's. I need some billet grills!
