Im looking to buy a used 26 foot prowler this spring and was wondering if anyone had any links to any dealers, ive called a couple of places, and some of the dealers who showed up online on my web search said they stopped selling them and switched to formula. They said they are not selling them. Im up here in Chicago area. Just wondering if you guys could help thanks.

Sonic31,
The 26 Sonic would be a perfect boat for the Chain. It handles rough water great. If you are going to be doing most of your boating on Lake Michigan I would go for the 31.
I have a friend who may be selling his 1998 26 Sonic. He is on this board. His user name is 26Sonic. The boat looks like the day it came from the factory. It would be a great boat for the chain.

Yeah he gave me a number to call for more info on it, i mainly will just use it on the chain, its my first boat so i figure 26 for now then a 31. If i buy 31 then its twice the gas and then time for a new truck, so ill start small. Thanks for info.

If you can get a ride on a 26 & 31 you'll see the difference.....big difference ! The choice will be easy then.
The 31 is a much, much better riding boat. The 26's seems to porpoise alot. Not too nice riding in 2-3's. It handels them, just the ride quality sucks compared to the rest of Sonic line. Obvioulsy bigger is better and will give a better ride. But the ride quality is far superior in the rest of the line. 26 is a nice boat, but the rest are much nicer.
Fuel consumption shouldnt be bad with twins, especially 454's or 502mpi's. Twins has its advantages...

sonic31,
I use to live in Gurnee and spent a lot of time on the Chain with a 24Ft Baja. The 26 Sonic would be a perfect boat for that water and the occasional trip to Lake Michigan. It will handle any water that the chain can throw at it with ease.
