thsi was emailed to me from a friend at erwin Marine.... got me a lil concerned....
Yesterday I made a few phone calls about the boats being banned off the Riverfront Park Docks. After receiving the responses I did from the government officials I am very concerned about what may happen to the docking at Riverfront Park.
It is strongly recommended that we ban together and make sure the voices of the boaters will be heard. As many boaters as possible need to attend the special meetings that are addressing the Cumberland River and Riverfront Park.
Hargreaves Associates, the design firm engaged in the riverfront study for the city, is hosting two public meetings. One is Thursday, August 24th, at the Adventure Science Center; registration at 6:00 pm with the meeting from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. There is also a "boating interest" meeting on Wednesday, August 23 at the Nashville Civic Design Center (138 2nd Avenue North) at 6:00 pm. The conference room will hold about 75 people and it would be superb if we filled the room.
Please encourage your boating friends to attend both of these meetings. The future of the docking at Riverfront will depend on your support.

THAT SUCKS!!!! The riverfront docking needs fine tuning but doing away with it is just ridiculous. Everybody send an email to the MCPA Officers through the web site, www.musiccitypowerboat.com, tonight or tomorrow and that will be our petition to take to the meeting tomorrow night. I will get Tim and/or Eric to go too.
If anyone knows a member of Cumberland Yacht Club, send them the email too. Maybe we can get them involved.
