the Water Channel
Hello everyone,
Several years ago, I began subscribing to Direct TV because they had terriffic sports (particularly boat racing), and movies.
Unfortunately, they do not carry the Water Channel, it's on Dish Network, just my luck.
I also have Comcast internet and basic cable throughout the house.
I called Comcast today to see if they carried the Water Channel on an upgraded package. They do not, however, the customer service rep I spoke to said "everyone who calls in wants that channel.......what makes it so popular?"
I explained the obvious (lots of boaters in Mid TN), and she said "If you can get enough of your friends to call in to our customer service # (244-5900) and request the Water Channel, we will probably add it. Our programming people do listen to requests."
SO FRIENDS, if you are interested in getting the Water Channel on Comcast, PLEASE call 244-5900 and request it!
Otherwise, it means switching to Dish Network, and a one year minimum contract. Of course if I do that, Comcast will offer the Water Channel within a week or 2 .......
Thanks,
Steve

Do you mean switch to Dish or Comcast (I think)?
Switched to Comcast Platinum HD yesterday. Pretty good bundle pricing if you also have internet service with them.
I was already paying $100 a month for "expanded basic" and internet. With the Platinum HD added in (all channels and all movie channels, some HDs), it was just another $40 a month.
A similar package at DTV was costing me another $100 a month, so I saved about $60.
Now if we can just convince them to add the Water Channel!
Regards,
Steve

Guys,
When we get everyone together Saturday night, we should tell
EVERYONE to call 244-5900, and ASK FOR THE WATER CHANNEL! They will add it if we stay on their ass!
