Thumbs down Tennessee Senate Bill 784

Thought my fellow Tennessee boaters might want to be aware of this. I just found out about it yesterday. Tell all of your boating friends since this will affect all boaters.

Myself and some others sent Mr. Burchett a few emails. Feel free to do the same.

Default what a load of crap

Well,
I wonder where Mr. Burchett came up with this boatload of sh-t? I heard about this bill earlier this week, and hoped it would have died in comittee by now, because TWRA would be in charge of enforcement, and they don't want a damn thing to do with it.
Sounds like more bureacratic sh-t to me. It's not the $20 that bothers me, I mean that would only buy 7 gallons of 93 octane ,,,,,,,,,,it's just creeping government interference in our lives and hobbies.
Thanks for the heads up Haulinvols. Everybody please write/email this A$$HOLE and tell him what you think. I did, and it wasn't warm and fuzzy !
Steve

Let's see 271,000 boats times $20 per boat. Gee, I wonder why they want a titling law passed.

We need some kind of title law in TN. It would help on insurance and keep TN from being a dumping ground for stolen boats. The down side is it makes it much easier for sales tax to be collected. Joe Murray

I don't have a problem with having titles, or even the $20.00 fee. It is all lof the hoops you have to jump through and the fact that the WRA is going to have to add yet another function to their already growing work load with little or no funds going to them to help out.

To me it is not the bill, but the obvious lack of thought that went into it.

20 bucks is cheap. Texas Parks and wildlife came up with the sticker system directly related to Home land security. Your "registration" is determined by the $$ on the receipt of bill of sale. Never mind that your boat is documented already.
No Sticker equals big fine and other fun stuff.....
Its about the $$, luxury tax!!?

This bill has been deferred to the House Ways & Means committee to be discussed on 5/8. This link is a summary of the bill itself and you can continue to trace the history of the bill as it moves through the legislature.
