I sure feel for you guys. I watched as Katrina ripped the roof off our place and then Rita pushed floodwater into it just to rub a little salt in the wound. A 60' water level differential @ Travis from last May is just unbelievable. Hang in there, better times are ahead. Somethings gotta give soon with this weather.

Lake Travis peaks early Friday morning at 701.52 feet msl

LCRA closed a second floodgate at Buchanan Dam after 8 a.m. Friday morning as flows into Lake Buchanan continued to decrease. One floodgate remains open at Buchanan Dam, the northernmost dam along the Highland Lakes chain.

Lake Travis appeared to peak early Friday morning shortly after midnight at 701.52 above mean seal level (msl). LCRA forecasts that Lake Travis will remain 700 feet msl through the weekend, based on rain that has already fallen. At 7:15 a.m., the level of Lake Travis was 701.42 feet msl. The lake, formed by Mansfield Dam, was built to hold back water during times of flood. Fluctuations in its level are expected.
