Sounds like you got hooked up. Texoma is a great lake however it can get real nasty when the wind blows. Have a great weekend in Texas--hope you enjoy yourself and good luck with your new boat!!!

I would suggest boating on Lake Texoma. Launch at Highport Marina.

When you are ready to head to Ohio, go north on hwy 75/69 thru McAlester and past Lake Eufaula to I-40. Fill up at the Flying J, and take I-40 east to Memphis.

Good luck!

Sounds like Texoma is a big lake! Are there restaurants on the lake with docking? Are there areas of the lake that get too rough for a 25' cat? Thanks for all of the info guys. Just trying to decide if it is worth it to go to Texoma with the boat already being on Lewisville. Sounds like it might be as long as it is not too rough for the 25.

Your 25-foot Daytona will be just fine on Lake Texoma this time of year. The party place is "The Islands". They are right across from Highport Marina (see above).

There will not be many people on the lake. A lot of the restaurants are still recovering from the flood. Highport's restaurant is still shut down from the flood. The shooters bar may still be open. There are some that are open, with docking. I will ask around and see which ones exactly are still open. YES, it can and will get too rough for a 25ft cat, but nothing an experienced driver can't handle. Thus, the reason for me getting a 28 apache. One of the beauty's of the lake is you can hug a lot of shoreline and stay out of most of the rough. There are also a ton of beautiful sandy coves to hide and get out of the rough. You will be fine.

I was not planning on going to the lake this weekend, but what the hell. Let me ask the old lady.

Oh hell, I'm going to the lake, it is too pretty outside not to. Dmann - 817-437-2516 - Andy. I'll be around all weekend. I started a thread for lake restaurants - http://www.lakepirateforums.com/Foru...c/t=12427.html

Looks like your restaurant options are limited to Catfish Bay (might want to double check), soldier creek, buncombe creek, and alberta creek. The nice places are closed.

Catfish bay is just a marina/gas store with a nice little bar on top and floating dance floor/stage. If their club is still open - it will be the only party place, but I would check out early becuase the crowd is rough. The rest are little po-dunk places on the lake with docks. Nothing fancy and pretty cheap. If you want to know more, give me a call.

I've also just rented out 43ft boat storage just a mile from the Denison Dam and boat ramps. My 28 apache will not be delivered for 2 weeks so you are welcome to it, if need be.

I'll go ahead and tell you where I'm at, in case you do decide to meet up. Its hard to explain these things over the phone. Our house is located just south of Sunset camp, and just north of burns flat, on the OK side in Cartwright, OK.

http://www.laketexomaonline.com/map/ltmap_c.html - its on the far right side (East) of the lake. My cove is a little tricky the first time. There is an shallow point, mostly sand, on the north side of the cove that stretches out about 2-300 yards. There is also a buoy that marks it - don't go over it. Its not reall shallow right now, so don't worry if you go over it, just look at your depth finder and if it goes from 50ft to 5ft you need to head south or back out of it. Its not a real big deal - I saw boats drive over it 2 weeks ago, but I never do. Stay close to the South point and once your inside the cove - you can go straight towards the marina. I've enclose an arial view, which just barely shows the point, so I edited it to show more of it. You can also see whats left of our wave-wall, it will probobly be floating somewhere else. The second shot just gives you a better idea of what it looks like from the water. The neighborhood is best marked from the lake by a huge house (not mine). There is a huge house in the general neighborhood that you can see clear from the TX side.
