Anyone heard any new news if they are gonna re-open this year? Or any new places that may open up?

Have heard all kinds of rumors, none of them good. One thats been repeated a lot is that its being turned into a wildlife and fisheries station.

Default River talk

Went for a ride two weeks ago and was told that Prop Stop was going to open up the usual time this year it always does and Blind River Bar would be opening up hopefully by Easter. Pier 13 was gone for good, but that someone was going to open the Tiki bar just for the summer. That was the talk at this time.

Friend of mine who works as dj there told me that Milton did sell. I have heard that rumor many times though. Milton was in some trouble with DEQ or some federal agency and was looking at some high dollar fines. I am not sure what has come of that investigation. Again a lot of rumors and speculation.

All - we are looking to put a crew of boats together and head to tickfaw area this summer. Where are there some hotels or cabins...with docks...on the water? Any guidance would be appreciated...Thanks

Not going to find a whole lot on the water. Might be able to rent a slip at Tickfaw Marina or Blood River Landing for the weekend but no hotels around that I know of. Easiest thing to do would be get a room in Hammond and keep the boat on trailer overnight.

Search for some of the old Tickfaw 200 threads, they have a lot of info on where to stay thats boat friendly.

Forgot about those. I have a number for Thunder Bayou at home. They'll probably know how to rent them. Will post it when I get home.
