Default Austin area - Jim Speros - mobilemercman.com?

Does anyone in the Austin area have any experience with Jim Speros (www.mobilemercman.com)? I blew an outdrive last weekend and I'm looking to get it rebuilt locally. Any comments, good or bad, are appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Ed, how is it going. Jim is a stand-up guy with a wealth of talent & knowledge. You will not be sorry doing buisness with him. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Thanks guys. I talked to Jim a couple of days ago. I'm going to drop off my outdrive at his place tomorrow.

Dave - good hearing from you. It's going ok. I just wish my power was as reliable as the paint looks! I got a new long block last year. Now I'm getting a drive rebuilt. What's next? I guess I still have one of each to go........

Maybe it's time to see if the boat will run at 1/2 throttle sometimes! I promise the boat will run at other speeds besides idle and full throttle!

Full throttle + no drive showers = 1 blown drive in 3 years.

1/2 throttle + drive showers = 4 or 5 or 6 blown drives in 3 years (I lost count)

Keeping my fingers crossed Tom. I should be back in the water next weekend. That'll give me 4 months to see if it stays reliable!

Come on now. For the record, I've only really blown 3 drives and the first two were related to bottoming out in sand in Destin. The next one I'll have to blame on not being rebuilt right as were all the little problems in between.

Tom - order this man some drive showers. All he needs is the hose, he already has the top caps. Oh and order him some new Bravo stickers so he can replace the ones that are melting off the drives.
