Default Lake Conroe in March

How is boating on Lake Conroe in late March? I live in Iowa, but have friends in Houston and am planning a trip down this spring and wondered if it's worth the 17 hour drive to bring my boat. Thanks for any insight.

Water may be a little cool to float in. By that time of year there are a number of people on the lake. Conroe is a bulkheaded lake. Once a number of boats get out on the lake it can get rough.

Just as Turbojack said, water will still be cool, most likely in the 60's. Good chance temps will be getting into the 70's by that time with always a chance of a cool spell still. We plan to be boating, but heck, plan to boat all year if we get the chance. If ya need anymore info, give me a shout.

We typically take a break in Jan/Feb but start getting back on the water in March. Water will be chilly but the weather is usually warm enough.

We're out any time it's warm. Good days in March there can be plenty of people out, the water will be cool but there are plenty of places to go. If you've never been here there are several of bars/restaurants on the lake to go to.

Are there any condos with boat slips that can be rented for a week?
