Default Headed to Travis labor day weekend

So a group of our friends are going up to Travis on labor day weekend. Is devils cove still a cool hang out with all the noise and raft laws or is there a better party cove to go to? If it were up to me I would rather find a empty one and hang there. It's been a while since I've been there and I know the lake is low so is the stick to the high side rule still a good one?

People are still gathering in Devil's but the crowds have subsided a bit. IMO, one open public ramp has turned the ski boats away, school has started, and it's just too GD HOT!!!

Well good, I would rather the lake not be crowded with wake douches! It will be labor day so I'm sure they will be out in full force! As far as a ramp our friends lake house has a private ramp and she says it has water but we will see!

devils cove has been slow due to new anti rafting/partying laws from Jonestown and low levels, I hope to be out and about just dont know when yet

A few weeks ago we were in Devil's. There were many raft up of over 5 boats. I saw Jonestown police come into the cove. They never stopped anyone. None of he party boats go there now. I think they just have a law they can use if they need it.

Run north from mansfield dam past devils cove towards lakeway and look for the "somtimes islands" on the right, its a great sandy beach and good place to hang out.
Headed to sin city for the pool parties or I'd be on the water somewhere!

Sometimes Island is right in front of Mansfield Dam, I think you are thinking of the beach at Point Venture by Dink Pearson Park..

Not really , same old same old..
Johnny Fins is closed due to low lake level, what used to be Shades, was The Pier and just became the Gnarly Gar this summer,

the old Shades moved across to Hurst Harbor to the old Aunt Tillies site and built a new place,

and Carlos and Charlies is still the same..
www.cncaustin.com
there is also Cafe Blue in volente and Lighthouse Grill in briarcliff,
I live on north side about a mile down from C&C, my boat is easy to spot. The arch gives it away,LOL

Chances are this will be the last good weekend of the year since the last public ramp ,
Mansfield Dam is about two weeks from closing..

Thanks for the clarification...I had them mixed up.

Sin city trip was complete chaos! We had 2 jr penthouse suites, one @ "The Hotel" and The Signature both w/hotubs in the room! Went to Moorea, Bare, Pauly D @ "Ditch Friday's", Cosmopolitan Marquee, Cosmo w/Ben Harper, Wet Republic w/Tiesto....meet some awesome people and had a blast. Actually I feel like I was hit by a truck! And yes, still came back w/$$$ winnings.

Glad to see people made it out on the water!
