Going to make my first trip there in July. Any tips appreciated

Make sure you have a GPS, especially since it's your first time. Easy to get lost back in all of those fingers.

Beware of state boat ramp. Very wide ramp, but very small and narrow parking lot in and out.

what marina are gonna be out of

Got a gps, been lost for a minute on smaller lakes. Be out of Sunset marina

very nice marina and good place to eat . one of the nicer ones on the lake.i dont think you will be disappointed.one hang out spot is west out of the marina up the obey river.another is up in wolf river at the cliffs. its a nice ride from sunset i thnk 16-18 miles something like that

I'd get one of the plastic depth maps and the lake is pretty easy figure out. The company that makes the good one is www.atlanticmapping.com. If you're coming through Nashville West Marine sells it in Hermitage. You'll love the water. It is pretty clear.
