That's a great idea. I don't know who could be a point man at the lake. Maybe someone like Blume, who has an interest in the "big boys" showing up, and knows the players/has name recognition? I don't know him, just thinking out loud.

Blume would be the one to do it that's for sure... I don't know him either.
I don't think there is a real problem with the corps, there have been quite a few "fun runs" since Flash. The latest I know of being put on by Texas Boating Mag.

i think if a marina was to get involved and do a winner takes 50percent of the purse and the other goes to the marina that it could be a big deal, but who knows , been looking here lately and the fast boat havent been running around like a few years ago.

That would be cool, crazy its been 7 years already. For sure we need to do a 10 year Memorial run just out of respect for all involved.
Heres a pic of me and Heath in the background, Im in the orange shirt on the dock. We just launched Double Trouble when 20 OK Hwy Patrol swarmed in and put everything on lock down. What a tragic accident, words cant describe the eerie feeling in the air. God Bless to all involved

terrible we were there and if my cat had not blown a innercooler we would had been in the first 5 or 6 boats. i remember as tho it was yest, it was a hazy day they headed out of buncombe creek and in 10 minutes there lives were changed as several others who witnessed it.
