Thank you for the reply, No we are not tied to the Clear Lake area and more and more we are thinking we'd enjoy living in the city. I just put a hold on a unit that is in Kemah that is month to month. At least I can get her inside and secure in a couple of weeks when I get it in town, then we can take our time to figure out where we are going to end up.

Although it just a 26' it has an swim platform and extension box and then tack on the tongue we are over 30" and this seems to be one of the problems of finding an indoor location.

Were you also asking about RV storage? They are normally very large.

I was searching for both boat and RV. I found a place but they don't have a wash pad unfortunately.

Ya I had trouble finding a unit big enough too, seems like everywhere is full and the ones that weren't were expensive. I finally found a place almost to Alvin!! It's like 10 min from the house but the opposer direction of the water. It's a 15x45 for $165/mo not to bad with wash down area as well. Did you try the uhaul storage of league city off W Main 281-554-5168 ??? It's a good place plenty of room, two wash down stations my dad used to keep a boat there. Being so far from home you really need a wash down to flush. I can get you the number to my place if you want it but would be kinda out of the way for you. Also if you want I can shoot you my number and try to give you some more ideas.

I understand about trying to find a place to secure your boat.

Like I said once you all find out where you are going to live there are a number of places that have indoor storage in and around town. Growing up we kept the boat on the West side of town off Gessner so we could take it to Conroe, Clear Lake, Austin, Summerville, San Antonio to Canyon Lake, Port A, ect.LOL Just depends on where you live and where you want to go on the weekends.

Kemah is great! Check out San Leon and Baycliff for the best places.

I found place on 16th Street for now, it has one wash down pad and it seems secure. Just kind of wished there was something between Houston and Clear Lake, I am sure I will be able to find something over time. Just glad we have a place for when I drag the boat here in a couple of weeks.

Thanks again for all the great information!

My next question is going to be where can we launch it?

Since your storage is in kemah the closest ramp will be the one under the hwy. 146 bridge on the kemah side. There are ramps on both sides of the bridge but the seabrook side is to shallow for our type of boat. I will say I am not a huge fan of the kemah ramp because I always have to put the rear wheels of my truck in the water to get my boat on and off. My preferred ramp is off fm 270 in league city at egret bay on clear creek. It's smaller and protected from the wind decently. The other option is the ramp at clear lake park by the hilton, I never use it, always a bunch of yahoos and no real protection from the south winds we usually have. They have a breakwater but it sucks IMHO. I believe friehill was referring to the dive bars restaurants in San Leon/baycliff. It has some good spots to hang out grab some drinks/grub and watch the bay. If you would like and we get some decent weather one day I can take you out and show you around the lake and bay.
