Galveston/the Bay/Clear Lake
Does anyone have any recommendations on places to stay that are on the water and have overnight boat docking? Most of the lakes are too dry up in North/Central TX and we are looking at making a couple trips down to the coast.
Another thought is Lake Livingston - up for suggestions.
thanks,
Ricky

We stay at the Holiday Inn on the Kemah Boardwalk and keep the boats in the marina at Kemah. The hotel is about a 1/4 mile from the marine, so we just walk. It's a private marine, with a security gate. The boardwalk is right on the bay, so you can go into Clear Lake, or the bay. Good times. .

Thanks everyone for the feedback - I really liked the South Shore place. I'll check it out next week when I'm down there. Does anyone know of any good navigation tools (ie websites,) besides a standard boat navi that does a good job of illustrating hazards and channels? First time and my co-pilot is a little worried about this.
thanks again!
