Slow Group at TOC
In a different thread there was talk of a slow group running together at TOC. This still happening? If so, I'd like to join in.

Cool, sounds good. I hope to be leaving out about noon on Thursday, arrive Kemah around 1:30 - 2:00. Launch and put into a slip at the Kemah Boardwalk Marina, and check into the condo around 4:00. Party our butts of Thursday night.

We're staying at the corner of Kipp & 7th St. Hopefully its crawling distance back to the room from the Boardwalk. Here's my old tub. |

I'm prob a bit under propped. 23p. My fuel efficient speed is 45 - 50. 3500 - 4000rpm.
I can hit 60 but only wish to see 70. |
Been told not break in at WOT and not air it out!!!!! lol 45 - 55mph good speed for me. Max use to be 68, It'll be a while before I see that again, well at least about 10 hrs anyway.
|
I have one in the boat that is a bit nervous so we may run in the 50mph range. Either way, 5mph will not separate the group much between stops.

Brady, your condo is right in the thick of things. The street party Thursday night is on 6th St and I believed blocked off from Bradford to Kipp. Corner of Kipp and 6th is the best bar there, Palapa's! Hell if ya had to crawl back from the Boardwalk you would be good.
That's excellent! I reserved the place back in February. Thursday night is my night to get torn up from the floor up. First stop Friday isn't until noon. I'm looking forward to trying those Bushwhackers from the Turtle Club you were talking about. |
I can hang in the 50-60 range but if I'll probably cruise at 45 - 50 with you guys.

Anyone hanging around on Saturday or boating around as my better half & self might fly in. I have the car rental already booked. Not set stone a spur of the moment deal for us. If you need any small parts that I could put in the bag let me know as I can bring, if I have it on hand.
Just saying about breaking in new engines - no long periods of idle - really try to idle the engine as little as possible to non - (especially if you have a flat tappet motor) - no lugging the motor, vary engine rpm with no constant rpm running for long periods - usually no WOT for the first couple of hours of break in but if so short burst can fine as well. ( basically this all holds true as the usual rule of thumb for most engines - stock to mildly performanced) Also a lot of this is determined by ring package used in the build , cylinder wall finish, engine clearances, internal parts used plus how good was the machine shop doing their prep work and machining. Anyways engine builders and others will have opinions all over the board as well. Just saying |
How far is kennys place from kemah boardwalk slip ? 36 Baja
