John, It is a shame that Canadian Music is held to the standard of Nickelback, Celine Dione, and Shania Twain. Bare Naked Ladies (Simple BNL in Canada) are a national treasure.
Canada has giving the world many exception musical talents. Names like The Tragically Hip, Sloan, Bryan Adams, and Great Big Sea come to mind. Yes, I understand that Justin Bierber is Canadian but we are in the process of revoking his Citizenship. I have contacted the Canadian goverment (Darrell and his other brother Darrell) and they feel this event is of national importance and I have been encouraged to partake in cross cultural exchanges. Maple sirup and Ann of Green Gables DVDs for all. |

Thanks Urban. I hear what you are saying. I ran the boat from Clear Lake to Galveston and back running about 3800 RPM the whole way and it never missed a beat. At around 4500 rpm I am doing just above 50mph. I figure this is what I will be running on the this trip in order to keep up. I ran it for 20 mins at this speed and temp never increased a bit.
I just installed a new Garmin 741 7" touch screen and I would reccommend to anyone. Very easy to install and very user friendly. The sonar is cool also. |
Urban, that would be great. Thanks again.

Sure wish I could do this but I don't think the date is going to work for me

Hey Guys,
I have made this trip many times from both Clear lake and Beaumont/Bridge City. It's an easy trip by boat with very few navigation issues to worry about. It does get a little confusing once you head north on the Calcasieu river towards Lake Charles. The ditch (ICW) is the way to go. It can get a little boring at time as there are 20 miles stretches that you don't even have to touch the wheel! LOL If anybody want to chat about this trip PM me your number and I can talk you through it. On another note, if anybody wants to make this a budget trip (not pay $300+ a night for hotel) you can always stay at INN on the Bayou www.innonthebayou.com for about $70 bucks a night and they have good boat parking. This is what we do on the Texas Big Boat runs. You can buy a day pass to use the pool areas at the casinos for around $25. Have fun guys! When it gets a little closer I might have to join in on the fun! LF |

LF I just called Inn on the Bayou, and I think she said it is $79.00 per night and they don't charge you to dock overnight They also have a water spot if you need to flush the salt water out of your engine. I assume you need to bring a water hose. Let's see what the Golden Nugget offers......The Golden Nugget does not have much room for a lot of boats and I bet there is going to be a lot more boats going than what the Golden Nugget can handle. |

I have been friends with Gerry for 20yrs. He has done well and not bad for a Texas Tech Boy. LOL
Gerry has always treated me and my groups like ROCK Stars. If we can pull this off once maybe we can do it as an annul get together or some type of poker run ending at the Nugget... Looking at a lot of reviews sounds like there some bumps, but that the run is still a good three to two months away. I am sure it will be a great time and looking forward to meeting everyone. To keep everyone posted: John Will have someone from the hotel reach out to you Gerry Del Prete Senior Vice President General Manager Golden Nugget Lake Charles On Feb 3, 2015, at 8:01 PM, John <[email protected]> wrote: Gerry, Hope all is well. Hey have a question if you have a min. I am involved with a group of Offshore sports boats. ( www.offshoreonly.com ) There is a group of us, 5 to 10 boats (Still working on a hard number) that are getting a boat run together from Clear Lake / Beaumont to Lake Charles for a fun get together weekend in April. Everyone wants to go to the Nugget. We have been looking at the marina, the cost per boat, and rooms, but can’t find anything online or published on rates. Do you have any info or a POC we can contact for the information? Thanks, John As soon as I hear anything I will post it here. |
I reached out today. I have not heard from his people. But we will.
Did we get a hard number of people? J |
