Hauled a small boat up years ago to my Mom's lakehouse on Beaver Lake and had a blast. Wished I had brought the 30 Outlaw I had at the time, would have been awesome. Now, I have a 35 Outlaw, so even bigger and quite the haul. Is Beaver Lake friendly to go fast boats with 525 noisemakers???? LOL.

Beaver Lake has no noise limit laws. There are a handful of cigs and a few fountains running around on the lake.

i know there is a lot of boating on the river , but i dont know much else . beaver is nice , but i think Norfork is better . greers ferry is also great , has a handful of powerboats that frequent it and is huge . clean clear water at almost all of our lakes

Hamilton is a hoot, but very busy on holiday weekends. Rent a condo.

Ouachita is beautiful and lots less traffic. Rent a houseboat.

Greers is on the national list of cleanest lake in US. With that said, folks from Hamilton and Ouachita call it the "retirement lake", since there is virtually NO on water amenities. Plenty of marinas, but no on water eateries and is smack in the middle of dry counties (no alcohol). Not too many "performance" boats, but a sh%% ton of party barges and ski boats....

So, with Greers being in dry counties, can you drink on the lake if you bring your own? Or does that mean, no alcohol, get caught, big trouble......

Just can't buy locally, as long as you are responsible, alcohol is legal to possess and consume. BUI laws are enforced though. Lake is pretty much laid back, if you don't show your a$$, the WP won't bother you.
