Anyone tubed the Guadelupe this Summer? How was it?

Thinking of taking the family for Labor Day weekend. Be lazy and tube down the river. Just wondering if it has been high or too fast?

Anyone know a good place to stay on the Guadelupe or Comal. Sleeping 5 - 9 people. I've been searching the net but have not stayed at any of the places that are popping up. Just looking for good advice. Not looking to spend a fortune.
