Can anyone recommend a good Mercury Mercruiser engine rebuilder and or maintenance shop in the South Texas area?

Might try Victory Marine, but no experience with them. A decent marina like some of the ones out of clear lake could probably refer you to whoever they use to rebuild motors.

How far south exactly? Are you willing to drive a bit?

Austin area

Friend of mine has worked at boat shops in CA over the years and lives in Austin now. He works alone and is a mobile guy out of the Lake Travis area. He can come to you if needed. I take my boat from Lake Conroe area to Austin to have him do service work when needed. I believe he does motor rebuilds as well. If interested, let me know and I'll pm you with contact info.
