We are definetly lookn and visiting the area in December.

Lookn at Lakewood Ranch and Palm Harbor.

Property taxes are definetly about 4 x more than what I am paying but no State Income tax it all evens out.

And when I visit maybe I can talk the wife in letting me visit Mangos one night!!

Check out Satellite Beach. I grew up in a place called Tortoise Island. It's literally an island community, but very close to land (separated by a canal). There is another place in Indian Harbour called Lansing Island... smaller, newer, more $$$. I think every lot on Lansing is waterfront with deep water access. 95% or more of Tortoise is deep water access. Tortoise has a private boat ramp (hardly ever used). Private club house with a game room for the kids. Tennis courts, pool, etc. They are both gated, drawbridge over the canal.

The Public schools there are the absolute TOP. I graduated College with a higher GPA than HS because it was that difficult in HS and I was so far ahead when I got to College.

The boating is pretty awesome. Hardly any speed zones and you are smack in the middle of Port Canaveral and Sebastian inlet... both are short runs for a go fast. Plus, there are still places to ski / do watersports for the kids where they won't get run over by a million boats.

If my wife and I could find jobs there I'd be back in a heartbeat.

I'm in Tallahassee now. Pretty good, not as good boating. I'm sending the kids to Private schools here.

you really cant go wrong with lakewood ranch area.new schools.shopping.heathcare ect..its all brand new.look into water leaf.or really any of the developements on the river.
plus tampa is only 30 min. away...

Nobody has mentioned the Destin area, if this not a nice place to be?

I used to live in that area, but now it is too populated. I used to
tune up my Chevelle and run it out to 110mph from the Destin Bridge
to FWB. Now you are lucky to go 35MPH in the same area because
of the huge traffic all year around!

As for boating it has the most beautiful water in the state. The
beaches are the best in the world. Problem: too many people!
The schools should be good.

Palm Harbor, nice area I have a place there. Your best bet for property values is Sarasota and Long Boat Key if you don't mind an hour drive from the Tampa airport. Good luck.

Thanks again...seems lke all the advice is pointing to Palm Harbor or Oldsmar area. There are some areas they are caling Tampa but seem to be in Oldsmar ....a lot of different areas in FL make it very confusing...I even looked at East Coast area but dont know ucgh about east side other than Miami and Laurderdale and wife says no way!!....to close to Mangos in Miami!

Suburbs with family neighborhoods, sports, beuatiful beaches, blue water and lots of Palm Tres!!!

Which of the above city's have a good basketball team ??? Point is if they have a good team stay the hell out of that town !!!!!!!! Look for the worst team and move there !!!!:drink:
