In your opinion, where in Fl would be the best area to live in for boating purposes with a skater, powers on

South Florida, from West palm on the east coast, around the keys to Fort myers area on the west coast, or anywhere in between.

West coast cape coral, fort myers, naples area,
then join frt myers offshore boat club and you
can have some of the best boating ever. Plus
you can really get a good deal on a home right
now.

I am asking myself the same question. Tried Daytona, Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, West Palm, and Tampa so far. Just visited Sarasota and Fort Lauderdale and will visit again. Good fishing and blue water on the east coast, clear water, smooth water, white beaches on the west coast...
Cons as I found them:
Daytona has trashy gold diggers.
Palm Coast average age is 90+.
Ormond beach is nice but has nothing of inlets or nice water.
West Palm is too expensive compared to what you get.
Tampa has too many rednecks.

The search continues. Just happy I have a nice tow rig so I can do it.

Love the year-round season.

Even tho I don't have a boat, I vote for the southwest side. More laid back and doesn't have the crowded feeling I get from the east coast. Living in Naples is about halfway between Sarasota and Ft Laud/Mia - perfect for me.

And, as Rick said, there's Ft Myers Offshore.

Parkland is Very Nice. Also, if you dont mind being that far West, there are some very nice neighborhoods in West Boca, try Loggers Run, and Mission Bay.

I live in St. Pete / Treasure Island, and after boating and living in FL for 30 yrs, I like this are. Great intercoastal, usually smooth Gulf, loads of islands, quick trip to Tampa or Sarasota and less than 2 hours to Sanibel. Waterfront home prices are the most reasonable in Pinellas County.
