Lake Lanier

Who is going to be out on Lanier this weekend?

We will be out today and tomorrow so if you are out and see our Formula Fastec with red and blue world champion graphics and IL registration #, stop by and say hi.

Boat name is Never Satisfied.

We will most likely be in Sunset cove close to the beach so our son can go back and forth between the boat and the beach.

Nope, thats not me. That boat is damn near a twin to ours though. Only difference is the colors are slightly different and that one is either a 353 or 382.

We were backed in by the beach both days and sandwiched inbetween a bunch of cruisers.

THat boat is a 35.

I have been boat shopping this year and when I called on that boat it had sold 3 weaks before I called. The ad was still up on powerboatlistings and I think it still is.

Oh yea here it is. http://www.powerboatlistings.com/view/6733
Notice the name on the back of the boat. That is how I recognized it.

I second that! I wouldn't let anyone else touch my boat.

I think we touched your boat and made you a nice new engine hatch and you were at my shop a couple weeks ago wanting some more work done. How did we treat you? I guess you guy's got treated right but I'll tell you the story on how I got I got ripped off. Time doesn't cure wounds w/ me.

100% right, I wouldn't use anyone else for my glass work. You and David do GREAT work. My hatch turned out perfect and I couldn't be happier with it. So I stand corrected, there are only three people that work on my boat. Merlin keeps me dialed in with motors and drives. You and David do the best glass work around, and I keep tearing stuff up to keep everyone busy.

We'll be glad to help you. David is top notch and when I see you again I'll explain. Later........

If you see our boat out, stop by and we can have a beer. or keep an eye out for a R/C boat running around, thats usually my 6 yr old son terrorizing people by the beach at Sunset.
We just moved down here earlier this summer as well and have met quite a few great people.

We'll definitely have raft up in 2011. We finally finished our new 41 so we now can get around to the South end of the lake.

Sounds like a plan.

My next question: any one have a good detail guy that will go out to my boat?

If you have non ethanol I'll fill her up regularly!

PokerFace 12-27-2010 03:25 PM

It has ethanol, but is treated with Valvtech, and I have 93......maybe I can help in a pinch when you are down this way visiting Sunset Cove. Happy Holidays to your family...

Old thread, but about to join the powerboat "group" on Lanier and found this thread. I live in Midtown and am purchasing a Sunsation 32 Dominator SS MCOB for Lanier. My time has been on Hartwell the last 5 years, so Lanier is a new game for me.

Thinking about Lazy Days for dry stack since the only dry stack options for that size of boat are Lazy Days and Port Royale ... PR seems nicer but its about 15-20mins further drive. Any experience / advice?

What's the best site to check for poker runs, events etc on Lanier?

Thanks and hope to meet up on the lake!

Not sure what it's called these days but there was a nice marina on Browns Bridge that had dry rack that i thought went to that length.

Maybe rbr2328 or another will chime in.

I just saw this...thank you Barkley.

jasonp 03-01-2011 08:29 AM

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too.

Wish they had 87 for easy fill ups. That high test isn't required for HOs and gets expensive!

Both are nice places and can handle your boat. Personally I like Port Royale better because of the bar and the store. Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Me too - I have never seen Lazy Days though. Bar there is good and food is tolerable. Like the chill live music.

We didn't go with Port Royal as I couldn't get over how they drag/push your boat to its slip with the dingy. Seemed like a recipe for scratches and dings to me.

jasonp 03-22-2011 06:40 PM

Rbr2328 --- you wouldnt happen to own an f4 would you? I'm bringing a 32 SS MCOB to the lake.

Cash Bar 03-22-2011 09:50 PM

Not unless it's a HUGE Spring surprise. :coolcowboy:

I think he still has his 33' AVH Scarab w/worked power.

DirtyMoney 03-22-2011 10:02 PM

No F4 this year but would be nice. I have a 33 Scarab and will be out all year. Hit me up for the houseboat parties all summer long.

Cash Bar 03-22-2011 10:12 PM

Maybe we should use that mold for something. Just sayin'

:lolhit:
