Default Bimini Run In Oct. 14 -16

We are going to Bimini from Fort Lauderdale on the 14th and returning on the 16th. This will be our first crossing in our new boat and we would like to get some boat buddies to cross with us. We are taking our Baja 272 with single 502.

I've always wanted to do that. Have you made that run before? Exactly how far is that from Lauderdale?

Its 48 miles from Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini then how many gallons of fuel will it take? Do you think a 65 gallon fuel tank will be enough? How many hours did it take to do this exciting trip?

It's only 1.5 hours away going 30 knots. My 502 burns 8 gallons an hour. We have 91 gallon tank. Your boat should be fine

If your going to Freeport you'd be better served to put in at West Palm and leave from here....56 miles to West End...another 10 around to Freeport/Lucaya. I think Bimini to Freeport is about 50 miles. Add another 45 from Ft. Lauderdale.

If you decide to make this trip on regular basis get a Local Boaters Option Card -- here's link to info site --

Also--if you haven't done it get an MMSI for your VHF -- http://www.shinemicro.com/aboutmmsi.asp
