I worked at rack storage units for 28 years. I have built them and also set them up. The three ways to get chipped strakes is the angle Iron on the inside of the bunk that the bunk board bolts to will destroy a performance boat if they are to close to the top of the bunk boards. The big strakes hang down past the inside of the bunk board and rest right on that bare mental edge of the angle iron. The second is if they have the welded strips of metal holding on the rubber to the forks. The third is if the boards are bowing in and they set the strakes of the boat on the board and the boat rolls in the bunk boards. This is the best way to find an air void in the strake of the hull. It pops the gel right off.

I have a straight bottom, yes, so I've never had to consider anything otherwise. There are stepped bottom boats there however, and though I've never inspected the bunks closely, from afar it would seem that they have made accommodations for some of those guys.

West Lake Toho will make a mess of your boat. But you can run the Kissimmee River, although the next lake Cypress is very shallow and covered in hydrilla.

Check out East Lake "Toho" Tohopekaliga in St. Cloud. It's a tiny little lake but it's plenty nice and they used to have APBA Offshore Races there.
The boat races are this weekend, these lakes can get kinda shallow, a boat that size needs to be on the St. Johns River or on the coast. The intercoastal on the east coast has a lot of islands and sand bar parties, places to hang out, Grilles @ Pineda Causeway, Capt. Hirams etc.

Sorry had to chime in- a never forget story.

Back in about 1982 when we lived in ORL we had a 16' tri-hull outboard and cruising the St Johns one weekend afternoon and came across this massive, bloated fk'n COW upside down with all 4's hard upright !!!!!!!!!!!!

The STINK and flies were unreal, we got the hell out of there WOT !!!!!!
